Meet Local Comfort Keepers® Caregivers

Our team is uniquely qualified and ready to help

Every member of our team is professional and well trained. We conduct a thorough screening and interviewing process to identify the best home care providers, and only those who pass this process go on to complete training to deliver our special brand of home care and become Comfort Keepers®. What truly sets our people apart, though, is their natural gift for caring for others.

All Comfort Keepers pass extensive background checks and complete continuing education. They are insured and covered by workers' compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families.

David Gibson

President and Owner

David graduated from the University of Maryland in 1990 with a BS in Accounting. He worked for almost 19 years for Calvert, an investment company focused on socially responsible investing. The decision to open Comfort Keepers in Montgomery County has been the ”most rewarding professional experience” of his career! David finds fulfillment helping seniors stay independent and he enjoys getting to know his clients personally.

Ani Gibson

Operations Manager and Owner

Ani graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 1992 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. For 18 years, she practiced Physical Therapy working with seniors both in the Assisted Living setting and in the home. In June of 2010 Ani, along with her husband David, decided to become a Comfort Keeper and open the Montgomery County Comfort Keepers office. She still has an opportunity to utilize her skills as a PT for client care and is enjoying learning all the new things that come with owning a business.

Melinda Fannoney

Senior Client Care Coordinator

Melinda attended Montgomery College studying Hospitality Management. She later moved on to teaching, earning her teaching certificate in 2007. Melinda spent 4 years as a lead Pre School teacher before joining us at Comfort Keepers. She was the first caregiver we hired here at our Rockville office. Melinda has quickly worked her way up the ranks to her current position as Senior Client Care Coordinator and has become an integral part of the Comfort Keepers team. She enjoys the opportunity to meet new people and hear the incredible stories our seniors have to tell.

Barbara Hill

Client Care Coordinator

After graduating from the Chicago Board of Education Practical Nursing Program, Barbara received her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. That was over 40 years ago and Barbara now has over 30 years of experience in Geriatric Long Term Care Nursing and Home Care Nursing. Her work experience includes charge nurse management of skilled nursing units as well as director of wellness. Along the way, she has developed an interest in behavioral science and is planning to pursue an additional degree in that area. Barbara's many years of experience along with her love of client care has been a wonderful asset to our company.

Russell Greenberg

Administrative Assistant / Safety Choice Coordinator

Russell will most likely be the one who answers the phone when you call. In addition to being the office Administrative Assistant, Russell is also the Safety Choice Coordinator. So if a client needs an emergency button or medication dispenser, Russell is the one to help.

Nicaise Magui

Caregiver

Nicki was among the first group of caregivers we hired back in October 2010 and has turned out to be one of our best. Nicki’s clients love her gentle disposition and count on her punctuality and personal care skills. Nicki obtained her Medical Assistant license in 2009 and her Certified Nursing Assistant license in 2010. She is currently going to school at Montgomery College and University of Maryland Shady Grove working towards her BS in nursing. We are so happy Nikki has believed in our company enough to stay with us since the beginning.

Dawnia Richards

Caregiver

Dawnia has been a fabulous caregiver for Comfort Keepers over the past 2 years. Her clients not only rely on her CNA skills, but they look forward to her visits because of her conversation and companionship skills. Dawnia obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant License in 2007. She is currently studying nursing at Montgomery College with the goal of becoming a Holistic Medicine Practitioner. We are so fortunate to have a caregiver as dedicated and compassionate as Dawnia on our team.

Quotes from Dawnia's clients......

"Miss Richards is always on time, pleasant, above all competent and an ideal person both as a caretaker and especially as a companion to an aged person".

"Miss Dawnia Richards, was competent, always compassionate and caring with my wife. Her presence and care made a great difference in making my wife as comfortable as possible and for her family able to cope with her ordeal."

Deblin Teo

Caregiver

Deblin earned her Certified Nursing Assistant License in 2005, when she was still in high school. After graduation, Deblin worked with seniors in both long term care and rehabilitation settings. Her first experience in home care was when she joined our office as a Comfort Keeper. Deblin enjoys the 1 on 1 attention that home care allows her to give her clients. Her clients love her calm, confident demeanor as well as her dependability and reliability. She is currently taking nursing classes at Montgomery College with the goal of being a senior care case manager.

Amevi Konyo

Comfort Keeper of the Month-September 2014

Amevi has taken every client we have asked her to see, no problem! And, they have all loved her! We have 2 letters from her clients raving about what a wonderful job she does for them and what a hard worker she is. Her gentle nature has won over even the hardest to please. No assignment has been too short or too far for her. She arrives on time, listens to what the client wants done and does tasks the way the client wants them done. Thank you Amevi for being an exemplary Comfort Keeper and congratulations on being the Comfort Keeper of the month!
